If you love a deal then the Internet is probably your best friend when it comes to shopping endeavors. Some savvy shoppers refuse to shop in brick-and-mortar stores nowadays, preferring the steals the Web has to offer. There are, in fact, websites dedicated to bringing visitors news and information on the latest and greatest deals online. The Star Reviews team, always interested in money-saving opportunities, decided to dig in and see which of these sites was truly the best bargain site on the Internet. BensBargains.net was one of the sites we researched. Where do they fall on our list of great bargain resources? Here's the 4-1-1...

Our Favorite Bens Bargains Feature:

We really liked BensBargains' popular product trackers. Having a hard time finding a Nintendo Wii or an iPhone? Simply click on the product tracker and BensBargains will tell you which sites have it in stock and how much they're selling it for. Some people still can't find Wii's locally, but BensBargains.net listed a total of 9 online stores that had them available. Unfortunately, only 3 of the 9 stores actually had any left by the time we got to them and some of the prices didn't match, but that still put us in front of an in-stock Wii ready for purchase. That's not an easy feat!

The BensBargains Experience:

First and foremost, don't expect a hassle-free user-friendly layout when you visit this site. It was quite convoluted and we felt the beginnings of a headache as we started to navigate the offerings. Once, however, you become familiar with where things are and which parts of the site you like best, navigation should become quicker and more convenient.

The homepage has a list of tools to the left and the right and down the center is a listing of a few of the current deals the Internet has to offer. When we visited we saw deals for half-off iPod accessories, a $799 Dell computer system and Super Mario Galaxy for Wii for $40 (including shipping).

If you're interested in what bargains other deal hunters are looking at on the site, simply click the "Popular" drop-down menu and choose the Clicked, Discussed, Bookmarked or Viewed options and see which deals others are finding the most interesting.

You can also discuss deals not featured on the site (or the deals that are) in the Forums pages. There are specific forums for Hot Deals, Coupons, Freebies and Off Topic discussions. We found all of the threads to be quite interesting and very active. There were numerous posts made the day we visited and a variety of topics being discussed.

Overall we found BensBargains.net to be a comprehensive deal resource, even if the site isn't the easiest to navigate.

BensBargains.net Pricing:

BensBargains.net is free to use, like almost every other deal site on the Web. It seems to be ad supported, which partly contributes to the cluttered look and feel of the homepage.

BensBargains.net Customer Service:

Unfortunately, BensBargains.net doesn't really offer customer support. Only an email contact form is available and it says right on the page that a response to emails will only be given if the webmaster feels a reply is "warranted." We guess our email was not one of them, since we never received an answer to our email inquiry.

Upside:

Helpful product trackers, active community forums, lots of deals listed.

Downside:

Difficult to navigate.

Good for hard Hitting honesty of Deals

The Forums Make Ben's once you get past the Trolls. Real folk providing real feed back on why or why not it’s not a deal.
Even fatwallet doesn't judge most of the deals as being outdate, junk, or no longer relevant especially technology.
