We decided to spend the afternoon reviewing party planning services and Best Party Ever was one of the sites we came across. We liked their tagline ‘the best place to find party ideas and special event vendors’ and wanted to see if they lived up to their claim. See what we discovered below.

About Best Party Ever:

Best Party Ever may not sell party supplies, but they do make it easier for you to manage many of your party planning responsibilities from one place and from the convenience of your home or office. You can save all of your party details online, then login to access them any time you want. Plus, you can connect with more than 90,000 party planning vendors through the site.

Using Best Party Ever:
Your first task with Best Party Ever will probably be looking for vendors. Although you can search by type of party, you won't find many useful results that way. Instead, search your area by entering your city and state in the search bar. The vendor results will be classified in different categories, such as catering, transportation, etc. If you click on a vendor, you can add them to your vendor management list. One drawback is that at least one of the vendors listed for the area we searched has been out of business for several years. After adding vendors to your list, you can allot part of your total party budget to them to help you balance your expenses. This site is reminiscent of Party POP in that it acts as a party vendor directory.

Planning with Best Party Ever:
While some of the best party planning services try to automate as much of your work as possible, Best Party Ever prefers a more manual approach. Instead of allowing you to import your guest list from an address book or excel file, you have to type the information in manually. Instead of giving you checklists that can be modified to meet your party needs, you have to enter the tasks and deadlines on your own. While some of these potential issues may be addressed in the complete site re-vamp on its way, Best Party Ever may be more time-consuming than helpful for some party planners and to-be hosts.

Pricing:
Best Party Ever is a free service for users. Vendors costs range from free to $1800 for a year depending on how and when they want their business to be advertised. Additionally, Google Ads can be found all over the site, so don’t be surprised if you run into a few advertisements in the party planning process.

Customer Support:
Best Party Ever offers limited customer support. Their FAQ's page includes less than 10 questions dealing with issues for users and advertisers. This part of the site isn't very comprehensive.

Another option is to use snail mail, but if you're planning a party you don't have time to devote to writing and mailing a letter, then waiting days or weeks for a response. The site does have several contact forms on the site, but none of these are for customer support. One is for site suggestions, another is for suggesting advertisers. Hopefully, Best Party Ever will add a dedicated email address for customer service when they conduct their site re-vamp.

Upside:
Free. Can be used with online and offline guests.

Downside:
Limited customer support. Requires more work for party planner. Limited vendor selection.

Best Party Ever Summary:
Best Party Ever has potential so maybe they will revise the site and make it more useful for party planners. Right now, the site does not stack up well in our party planning service reviews. With limited customer support, a small selection of vendors (and some outdated information), and too much manual data entry, Best Party Ever is not the useful party planning tool most people would want. Instead, the site might be a good place to find isolated vendors such as a birthday clown or sone other vendor. The rest of the tools just aren't that helpful.
