We we were really happy to see a website that offered a clear and straightforward debt consolidation process. Debt Consolidation Connection is upfront about the services it provides, and has a simple form available in numerous places throughout the site to sign up for free credit consultations.

The Debt Consolidation Connection Experience:

The Debt Consolidation Connection website has a bright and sunny look to it, and features a breezy picture of a woman smiling and laughing with her two children on the front page. In addition to being lighthearted and aesthetically pleasing, the site was also easy to navigate. Finding the information we were looking for was easy thanks to the menu tabs located at both the top and side of the screen.

As far as services go, Debt Consolidation Connection gets right down to business. The first feature you encounter when browsing the site is a form for a free debt consolidation quote. After entering your name, contact information, and amount of unsecured debt, Debt Consolidation Connection promises to contact you by phone at a time of your choosing to provide you with free debt counseling and advice.

The site's "downfall" (if you could call it that) was the fact that we could find no “About Us” section explaining exactly what the company does and there wasn't any comprehensive Help or Frequently Asked Questions sections either. For Debt Consolidation Connection to be a truly valuable debt consolidation website, they'll need to add a bit more meat to their content.

Debt Consolidation Connections website offers no information on pricing whatsoever, When we tried to get pricing details from customer support we were given an "it depends" answer and were told we'd need to speak with a counselor to figure out exactly how much the services would cost us. While this isn't unusual in the debt consolidation industry, we'd really like to see some up-front fee guidelines, or at least examples, to give us an idea of what the service costs.

We were disappointed to see find that there is no help section listed anywhere on the Debt Consolidation Connection website. The site does, however, provide an e-mail form for a free debt consultation. There is also a toll-free customer service number that customers can call for help.

We really didn't like the fact that we had to fill out a number of very personal details to send in an email support request, but we did it anyway. After submitting the form, we were told that Debt Consolidation Connection would be in contact with us soon if our information was “appropriate.” We were confused about the use of the word “appropriate” and felt that this term was a bit off-putting, especially due to the fact that there is no way for customers to look up information themselves on a Help section or Frequently Asked Questions list. Overall, Debt Consolidation Connection could do a lot of things to improve their customer service options and their website as a whole.

Upside:

Easy website navigation, home equity loans, 50% reduction in monthly bills.

Downside:

No help section or FAQ.
