Our Favorite Homes.com Feature:

We really liked the fact that we could search for local schools directly on Homes.com. This is a great resource for parents who will take this type of information into account when looking for a new home and neighborhood. During our search, we not only got a listing of local schools, but we also got detailed information about the school, including the contact information, type of school, grade span, number of students, classrooms, and student to teacher ratios. There was even information on the school mascots and colors! The right school district can make all the difference, and Homes.com helps you find it.

The Homes.com Experience:

Homes.com gives home buyers the tools they need to find the home of their dreams (or at least the best one that fits into their budget).

Not only were we able to browse through thousands of real estate listing, we were also able to browse through listings of brand new homes. This is an easy way for home buyers who want brand new construction to find a house without having to go from subdivision to subdivision or contact numerous builders.

We were also able to search foreclosures using the Homes.com website. This is a great option for investors or home buyers who want to buy a property for less than fair market value – although many of these properties do need work and you may have to put a lot of "sweat equity" into them.

Of course, the school information section was one of the best features the site had to offer. Here, we could find out information on the schools in an area. This is the perfect search option for parents who want to move to a neighborhood with a school that meets their child’s needs. We received very detailed information about each school, not just a listing of schools within the area.

We also found the home value feature to be quite unique. It allowed us to look up the average price of homes in a certain area. This is great for people who don’t know much about an area and would like to know where they can find homes that are within their budget.

During our search, we were given the option of saving our favorite homes, comparing one home to another and having new real estate listings emailed directly to us. Combined with the finance and moving sections, these extras made Homes.com one of the most comprehensive real estate sites on the Web.

Homes.com offers their home search and real estate tools free to buyers. Brokers and agents pay the site to display the homes they have listed.

Homes.com Customer Service:

You can contact Homes.com by phone, e-mail, or web contact form. We found all methods to be quick and efficient. Phone support had only a 90-second hold time and email support got back to us the next business day.

Keep in mind, however, that questions about specific listings need to be directed to the actual real estate agents listing those properties. Because of this, property-specific customer service will vary depending on the agent it is listed with.

Upside:

Save your favorite listings, find local schools, browse foreclosure listings.

Downside:

You have to register (free) to use some of the features of the site.

Homes.com is the best online resource available for finding homes in States, may it be an appartment or home, or may it be home financing or rental.

homes.com provides great search tool aswell where we can find a home or appartment in our desired locality by simply putting in zip code, city or state.

It also provides links to home financing companies, and also helps its consumers to finance a house.

well If I have to grade homes.com, I would give it 10 out of 10, because its a one stop solution anyway.
