McAfee's system for the most part worked, but there were definately voids in the system. It does not do very well with Spyware and staying up to date with certain viruses.I ended up getting the Vundo virus, which it totally missed along with spyware. I downloaded Malware Bytes (free program) and it detected all of the infected files and removed all but one (registry). Why is it that a free program did so well and one that cost $$$ couldn't do that? Customer service was not very helpful with addressing this issue. I'd understand if McAfee was free, but we are paying for the service. I need to renew my service again, but after writing this review I'm getting mad and will not go with McAfee again.

My PC get infected by a virus through internet which make the PC to work slow. I get this problem again also after installing a Anti-virus software. Then I search for the best Anti-virus that deal with the virus and remove it completely from my PC and pevent my PC from getting infected again. Although McAfee's security software performs reasonably well, I have found that when I needed technical support, it was not easy to come by. I ended up going around and around haveing to run the "virtual technician" before I could even get to the email and live chat options. The "email a question" option did not work properly and the "live chat" option also did not work as it was supposed to. These support options were advertised as being free, but it would seem that McAfee's lack of a properly functioning email and live chat technical support options is intended to compel a customer to have to utilize their telephone, fee based, technical support instead. At $9.95 per incident, this can readily add up in a short time. I wrote the company two times and on both occasions it took 2 weeks to even hear back from anyone. I will not be renewing my subscription to McAfee's security software when my current subscription expires in 2009. What good is it to have a product that may perform reasonably well if you cannot get the technical support when you need it?
