The first thing we noticed about the RealtyTrac website is the wealth of tools and resources offered – and you don't even have to be a member to access some of them! There were articles and guides covering foreclosure topics such as how the foreclosure process works and how to buy foreclosure properties. There was even a helpful home value calculator.

We were really impressed with the neighborhood finder. It helps you locate the best neighborhoods to invest in. All you have to do is provide details about the type of property you're looking for (a great deal or one with a steady appreciation rate) and the general area where you want to buy and Realtytrac provides you with a map of the best neighborhoods in the city of your choice.

As far as foreclosure listings went, Realtytrac.com had quite a few. Not as many as some of the other foreclosure sites we visited, but enough to keep us busy. Unfortunately, we had to sign up for membership to get any of the actual property details, but this isn't uncommon in the world of foreclosure websites.

Realtytrac.com is offering a 7-day free trial, but you have to provide the company with your credit card information in order to access it. If you're serious about investing in foreclosure properties, it may be worth it to part with your payment information in this case. Many of today's foreclosure websites are requiring up-front payment info (even if free trials are provided) and RealtyTrac.com really does seem to be one of the better resources out there.

Upside:

A wealth of useful tools, helpful information, free 7-day trial.

Downside:

At $49.95 per month, this is definitely one of the more costly foreclosure membership services.

Urrrggghh another bad site

I was recently in the market for a new venture a few years back and thought that getting into the real estate business and flipping homes is the way to go. After doing some research online and in several other places, I stumbled upon foreclosures.com website and noticed that this website seem very organized and have a lot of information for a newbie like. After I view the site several times, this site was limited in information and I could have got more work done at the courthouse myself.Needless to say I decided to end before my membership expires and pursue other options. Overall, this site is a waste of time and money and is a huge scam!
