Our Favorite TrueCredit Feature:

We liked the fact that we were able to gain access to all three of our credit reports and our TrueCredit credit scores as often as we wanted while using this service. Some of the other credit report websites offering similar services only allow you to check once per month. You could check your credit every day with this site if you wanted to.

The TrueCredit Experience:

TrueCredit.com is owned and operated by TransUnion, one of the three major credit bureaus and one of the three reports that you are able to pull with your TrueCredit membership. The other two credit reports that you are able to pull are Equifax and Experian.

When we first logged onto the TrueCredit homepage, we were greeted by a very simple site with a large ad in the center letting us in on what we get with a TrueCredit membership including unlimited access to our credit reports from all three major credit bureaus, 24-hour notification of credit report changes and $25,000 in ID theft insurance.

We were a little disappointed to see that TrueCredit wasn't offering a free trial. Every other site we visited seemed to be so this was a bit of an issue. In order to begin membership, we'd have to start paying a $14.95 monthly fee right away. Since the site doesn't seem to offer much more than any other credit monitoring service, we couldn't see the advantage to this.

That being said, the site does have some very useful information. By going to the "Learn" section of the site we accessed a wealth of knowledge covering credit, credit scores, loans, the three credit bureaus, co-signing, refinancing, mortgages, car shopping, charge disputing, and tons more.

TrueCredit Features:

Check all three of your credit reports once every 24 hours.

TrueCredit Pricing:

$14.95 per month for all three credit reports and TrueCredit credit scores.

TrueCredit Customer Service:

TrueCredit offers support via toll-free phone. We had a bit of a hold time with this company and the rep we spoke with wasn't overly friendly, but we did get our questions answered to our satisfaction.

Upside:

Unlimited access to all three credit reports, $25,000 in ID theft insurance, notification when something changes on your reports.

Downside:

Customer service is less than stellar.

I enjoyed being able to see my credit report online with TrueCredit, however I felt that they made the application to view it a little difficult. You can receive one free credit report per year with them. The report is available for thirty days for a customer to view for free. When you log off and log back on again you are bombarded with many offers of different services with them. This was overwhelming. Most people just want their credit report and want to be done. It felt like jumping through hoops and over hurdles just to get your report.
