1. The Perks and Rewards
Most business credit cards offer perks and rewards, but those rewards (and how they are earned) vary greatly from one card to the next. It's critical that you get the most from your card's rewards program.

Let's say, for example, your business credit card offers you 5% rebates on gas purchases and 1% on everything else. When you've earned $25 or more, you are able to redeem those awards for office supplies. That's great, if you frequently purchase gas and office supplies. If, however, you don't, this card isn't really doing you any good.

Make sure your business credit card's reward program coincides with the needs of your business if you really want to get the best mileage from the card.

2. The Interest Rate
Some business credit cards offer a fixed rate of less than 10 percent. Others may charge twenty or more. If you carry a balance on your business credit cards, the interest rate is going to eat money out of your bottom line if you're not careful. Get a card with the lowest possible interest rate, even if that means fewer perks and rewards.

3. Online Account management
Most businesses handle the majority of their finances online. If you want to streamline your account management, you need a company that offers online statements and free online bill payments. Most of of today's business credit cards do offer this, but there are a few who are charging their customers to make payments online. Make sure you stick with the cards that don't charge fees for online account access and payments.
