Ticketmaster Live Nation Merger

Earlier this month, online ticket giant Ticketmaster announced plans to merge with the world's largest concert promoters Live Nation. If you are a concert goer like me, this must have sounded alarms in your head. Fortunately, we aren't the only ones who see this potential monopoly as detrimental to ticket buyers. Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wisconsin) who chairs the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on Antitrust is unhappy with this move as well. He spent the day questioning Ticketmaster's CEO and felt his answers were not being directly answered in a fortright manner.
Not sure what I mean here? Well just look at the recent issue surrounding the sale of Bruce Springsteen tickets. Ticketmaster "erroneously" instructed ticket buyers that the concerts were sold out and they needed to buy tickets from TicketNow.com. But guess what, TicketNow is a ticket brokerage site owned by none other than Ticketmaster. The Boss even went so far as to say Ticketmaster abused his fans.
I for one do not want to see a single entity that manages and promotes the worlds greatest talent, controls the best venues and then handles the sales of all tickets and merchandise. Just seems like a conflict of interest to me.
It will probably be a while unitl this all gets sorted out. In the meantime our two top-rated sites for online ticket sales are a great option for the best seats to the best events:
