Gmail Does It Again - Email Undo

How many times have you sent that email to the wrong person, or better yet forget to take out some previous discussions before forwarding that email on to the new recipient. It has happened to all of us, it can be embarrassing or even worse devastating to a friendship or a business deal. I got to thinking a few months back how cool it would be to have a retrieve button to get that unwanted email back after you prematurely click the send button.

Scary enough it seems like Google was in my head, and probably the heads of millions of others who have hit the send button only to realize after a short list of words better kept off this blog that they sent the email to the wrong person.
This is a huge step by the folks at Google to take email to the next level – what could be better than an undo button! Right now log into your Gmail account (you do have one don’t you?) the accounts are free and easy to setup! Once logged in simply go to your Gmail labs tab and enable the undo feature. It gives you a window of 5 seconds to undo the sending of a message.
It might not be the perfect solution for hot heads out there that fire off nasty emails only to calm down hours later and want to get it back, but it is a perfect solution for those times when we realize right away we sent the email to the wrong person, or forgot to attach the important attachment. Prevent embarrassing emails now and enable the Undo Email Feature on your Gmail account today.
