3 YRS. AGO I GOT MY 1ST SWIVEL SWEEPER____LOVED IT! YES, THE BATTERY ONLY LASTS ABOUT 18 MOS., BUT IT'S STILL WORTH IT. THIS PAST CHRISTMAS I GOT THE NEW G2____DON'T LOVE IT SO MUCH! STILL IS A GREAT PICKER UPPER, BUT I AGREE THE PERSON WHO SAID IT STALLS ALL THE TIME, ESP. WHEN DOING CARPETS. FIBERS AND DIRT SEEM TO GET BUILT UP IN THE PLACE WHERE THE BRISTLE BAR CONNECTS AND IT JUST STOPS WORKING. VERY HARD TO CLEAN IT OUT AND SEEMS TO START UP AGAIN WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT. GIVE ME BACK THE 1ST MODEL AND I'LL BE VERY HAPPY. THUMBS DOWN TO THE G2!!!!!

My biggest complaint is that the handle is so flimsy. I ordered 2 - one broke already, so I am being extra careful with the other. But other than that, the product works good.

I purchased the G2 at walmart and Iove it. I use it for in between vacuuming. It works on carpet and hard floor. So glad I waited for it to hit store shelves to avoid S & H fees.

I purchased 2 additional batterys, and was charged about $44 for handling. The shipping was free!!!! Rediculous!!!!!

I got the original Swivel Sweeper from an infomercial. It cost me a lot in shipping charges--worse yet, I had to buy two club memberships that were worthless at $14.99 a month each (which only stopped after my card went out of date). There was no way to opt out of that extra.
The product itself is trash. Yes, it worked in picking up dirt. It jammed easily. Worse than jamming, it will run for about a minute or less before bogging down and stalling for no reason. When this happens, I have to turn it off for a few minutes and back on (this with fully charged batteries). I find this to be unacceptable--when the motor will not run continuously for more than a minute, I cannot complete the task. For the record, I was applying only moderate pressure on carpet when this happened.
I would not recommend the original, and I will require proof that this problem has been fixed before getting the new model.

I saw the infomercial but when I went to purchase it, I, too was shocked over the shipping charges. Luckily I did my research and this is also sold at Bed Bath and Beyond and Kohls for $40. BBB sends out 20% coupons often and depending on how much you spend at Kohls for other items, you could get Kohls bucks that would offset the price. The second one they claim is "free" really isn't because they are making up the difference in charging $15 EACH for something that only weighs 2lbs!
So anyway, I bought 2 as Christmas gifts and 1 for myself. I LOVE it! It does the job for quick pick ups around the house. I have hardwood floors, tile and area rugs in my house. In the time it would normally take for me to get a broom and dustpan and sweep the kitchen, I can now do the kitchen, dining room and living room with the G2. It does get fairly dusty on the surface of it so I normally just wipe it down with a wet paper towel. Other than that, it picks up crumbs, hair and all of the other crap that is normally in my kitchen.
My mother has arthritis in her hands and the vacuum cleaner she has now is old and really heavy. She also has hardwood floors and area rugs. To have her lug that thing just to vacuum 2 area rugs was outrageous. Now she whips this out and can do the kitchen as well. This was money well spent in my opinion.

I cannot judge the product personally yet as I have yet to purchase it; however, I was hoping to see the review demo show the things NOT SHOWN on the TV ad but was disappointed. For instance, I wanted to see--in a close-up shot--how it did picking up plain old crumbs, dirt, and dust feathers! Although it's nice that it picks up styrofoam particles and thumb tacks, I want to see the everyday stuff and how well the bristles work and how often you have to clean them and how difficult that is. It looks so neat and clean to empty out the sweeper, but is it really when it's full of dust and dirt vs. styrofoam pieces? And is it really dirty and messy cleaning out the bristles? Why doesn't the demo review address what the ad doesn't? And why doesn't it talk about the battery issue mentioned earlier in the blog comments?

Ordered it from QVC. They have a good price for just one Swivel Sweeper and they are fast and reliable. I love my Swivel Sweeper. I can't be without it.

You gave this product a rating of 6 stars out of 6. Your own demonstration shows it does not pick everything on one pass.
My main question is how much does replacing the battery cost plus shipping?
At this point I remain skeptic.

After reading the comment below I called and spoke with a customer service rep and complained about the shipping costs. Why so much if they are shipping together? At first she said she wasn't able to do anything about it...that is just the charge. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the rep came back and said that since I was unhappy they would only charge me $5 instead of $15 shipping on the second unit. So I ended up buying both units for $60 and got rapid shipping free as well. It pays to rock the boat once in a while...I hope the thing works as well as everyone says!

I just ordered one after seeing the commercials several times. Thought for $40 it was a good deal. Used the phone number on the t.v. ad. It was all automated and took 10 minutes with all these prompts to add not only extra parts, but then other non-related items. $15 for shipping seems quite high and I wasn't given any type of confirmation number and no real person. Made me a bit uneasy. Came on line after the fact to see if there was a web site for it and now see they charge $15 for each one! So $40 for the product and $30 for shipping! That was quite misleading.

I just received the G2. I ordered from the swivel sweeper site. I have used it for two days and have to say I am VERY happy with the results. I have one dog and two cats and get tired of pulling out the dyson or wasting money on swiffer cloths. I have hardwood and tile floors and it does exactly what is shows on the infomercial. Love that is lightweight. I did get the second for additional shipping and after using the product I really don't care about the cost. After wasting tons of money on swiffer cloths??? I don't need to buy boxes of those anymore. Plus my dyson wasn't cheap either. I feel I will only have to get the dyson out a couple times a week instead of every other day.
I ordered mine in August also. The reason for the delay is because they were on backorder. The company sent an email letting me know. I am happy with the product. It is quick, cordless and very easy to use.

I ordered the swivel seeper G2 (on August 8) and had the bonus of "express shipping" that would arrive in 1 - 2 weeks. Here it is August 26th, and no swivel sweeper. When I called "customer service" the recorded message I got was that it shipped on Aug. 21 and to allow 2-4 weeks for shipping. I am already disappointed.
We often do reviews and then the product is gone and we do not update the status but in the Swivel Sweeper I wanted to give an update. StarReviews employees love this product. It is around the office all the time and used to pick up the office. Yes, we have a cleaning crew that comes in and uses their equiptment, but the Swivel Sweeper is used constantly by us and does a great job for all the messes we make doing reviews. We are still pretty happy with the review and the rating that we gave the Swivel Sweeper.

Express shipping took over a month. The suction is not sufficent. The brush has to constantly be cleaned. I am so disappointed in this product. I called and they told me their is a processing and handling charge of $14.99 each vacuum, plus shipping. So it's inferior and it cost a bundle if you want to return it. If you still want to get this useless vacuum, get it locally so you can return it.

I purchased the G-2 a few weeks ago and was excited to use it. I had my original Swivel Sweeper for over 4 yrs and used it almost every day. After I charged my battery up for the G-2, I used it on my hardwood floors and was disappointed in it when it left streaks of cat liter and had to go back over it several times. I don't feel this has the same amount of bristles that the original one has. Oh yeah, the hand sweeper they send you, that's a joke as I thought that would have been battery operated.. My personal rating on the G-2..maybe a 3 :(

They sell these at Kohls and Bed Bath and Beyond and you can use coupons from those stores. I bought a swivel sweeper many years ago and overall have been happy with it. I mainly use it on tile and wood floors. Works pretty well!

I bought my Swivel Sweeper over a year ago and it did great until the battery started to go bad. I have mostly hardwood floors and tile with throw rugs - and this vacumn has been great on getting up next to the walls, under the beds and in the hard to reach areas. All in all I have found it to be an excellent product. No cord is a plus for me! A friend told me that the pamplet suggests not to leave battery charging 24-7 as this will lead to a short life on the battery.

I would love to order ONE! But I refuse to pay nearly $15.00 for postage for the FREE second one! Heck, I can send 70 pounds to a soldier in Iraq for less than that!
Sad - cause I'd love to try it.

Thanks for helping me make an informed decison rather than falling for the sales pitch on tv. I will not buy this product from this company. Better I go to a reputable store in my area and buy a similar product.

I bought the original Swivel Sweeper less than a year ago, I purchased it at Kohls with a 30% discount coupon during their sale. I have tile floors and scatter rugs, and it worked great on both surfaces. I have cats and it caught the spilled cat litter perfectly on the tile floor and it did a pretty good job picking up the cat fur on the rugs. Will it replace my regular vac, no but it did the touch up jobs just fine. If I didn't have the cats and had just hard surface floors I think it could take over for the regular vacuum. Now, I used past tense in this review because in less than a year the battery has died. I was doing a search seeing if others had the same experience, I read the reviews and someone has hinted that this is common, at least with the original.
I would like to know if the same is true with the newer "G2" model.
I also own the Shark version, their cordless sweeper. (the G2 took the Shark's design of the bendable pole joint)I have owned the Shark for the same amount of time. I use that in my upstairs on mostly my low rise berber carpet and scatter rugs. I have scoopable cat litter spills and the cat fur, it really does it great job! (I only use it about 6-10 minutes at a day.) It too I would recommend. Yes, it is heavier, bulkier and it only moves back and forth but it is easier than pulling out my canister vac every night. Like the swivel it does not deep clean, once a week I still use my regular vacuum. About a month ago it stopped holding it's charge (a negative to me is that you have to plug in a cord to charge it, no removable battery) but after 3 days of no use and full charging it corrected. Before this I charged it every 3 days, now I plug it in every night.
Bottom line: the original Swivel I was very pleased with except for the total battery life. I assume with the G2 upgrade this will have been corrected or improved. I have had no dealings with the company since I bought mine at Kohls. There are other places to purchase the G2, do a Google search and you will see some more buying options.
I know this review was long winded but I hope it was helpful.

I have ordered things from television before and you ALWAYS speak to a representative before they ask you for your card #. in this case a machine was asking me for my # and i kept saying i would like to speak to a representative and they were ignoring me and kept asking for it.. i find that fishy!!

I think your opinion is out of left field. What did you expect them to ask for when you called to place an order ... pictures of your kids? We ordered and had this product shipped and tested it ... no complaints here.

Thanks so much for the comments everyone..it really helped me make my decision on NOT getting it. I actually called to order it a few minutes ago and before i even got to speak with a representative they were asking me for my visa #. I found that strange that's why i came on this review site... thank god i didn't give them my credit card # or order it!!! I think its all a scam. But that's just my opinion!

I placed my order today and the agent was ONLY interested in selling me other products and promotions. When I asked if I could speak to a supervisor to get past this LONG TEDIOUS call, he Hung up on me and never gave me the total, nor a confirmation # and do not know if it was completed. Now I have to deal with Customer Service. Already an inconvenience..................

Have you tested the battery life? Everyone says the old model has bad batteries. They only last 2 months to 1 year and at $9.99 plus shipping and handling, it's a poor deal to replace them. Please let us know if you found the new battery life to be good, but I have to wonder if this is a real review or an advertisment.
We continue to use the product that we got for the review in the office. I think it is a really useful vacuum to have around.

I would love to know for myself how this works but after waiting a month and countless calls I still have not gotten mine! Each time I call they tell me 1-2 weeks. When I ordered this they said because I ordered that day I would automatically get it shipped express shipping. It is a month later no swivel sweeper yet, if that is express shipping I hate to see what standard is. I would recommend not wasting your time and wondering when it might be deducted from your account and buy something locally, this company is NOT reliable!!!
