Yes I have a Twitter account and I Tweet periodically but I am not even going to tell you my Twitter name because honestly, do you really need to know when I am having a martini or when I am waiting for the train to pass so I can get to work? Do you really care?
I make a living in the online world and obviously I like to comment on things and stuff so you would think that Twitter would be a great place for me. It is a great place for bloggers with ADD -- short, and to the point.
But even now I don’t get it. I follow three people, Jack Welch, former CEO of GE, Shaq and TechCrunch and really I don’t know why I do it. I was very appreciative of Mr. Welch pointing out that there was an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal related to whether the government can run a business and since I respect his opinion I read the article. But Mr. Welch, I am a Met fan, I don’t care what Big Papi did last night and I certainly don’t care that it was getting chilly at the stadium. Now Shaq is pretty funny and honestly I have learned more new words in a short time frame than I have since the opening scenes of the Batman and Robin TV series (and please tell me why we don’t use Thwap and Bam in sentences more often). But Shaq … it is funny when you rip Pacman Jones on Pros and Joes but quoting Benjamin Franklin? Shaqdaddy … I want to hear more Shaqalicious quotes rather than stuff I learned in 5th grade history class. Techcrunch … you post too much!

So here is what I consider the really funny part about Twitter and its business model. Google bought YouTube from a billion or two and to this day they have no idea how to make money on it. Advertisers don’t want to associate themselves with random video producers … although I can’t imagine why anyone would not want to be associated with Dans As Seen on TV videos for StarReviews. So I was reading this morning that Google is now looking to partner with Twitter, another business that doesn’t make any money. I don’t know the real meaning of this blog post except to say I don’t really understand the fascination with Twitter, I don’t know why Google wants to partner with Twitter and to tell you that you can follow StarReviews on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/starreviews.
