On a slow news day, nothing causes more excitement in the world of celebrity gossip than word of a new sex tape that has been leaked to the eagerly awaiting public. Any celebrity sex tape peaks interest, but when word broke recently of a possible menage a trois caught on tape with no other than 'Gray's Anatomy's" very own Eric Dane, his super hot wife Rebecca Gayheart and former Miss Teen USA, Kari Ann Peniche, the world of entertainment reporting nearly screeched to a halt in shock. Not to say that anyone should really have been shocked, I suppose. After all, none of the three are new to controversy.
You may recall Kari Ann Peniche lost her title after posing for Playboy in 2002. In 2003, Gayheart faced controversy as the story broke in the Enquirer magazine after she was photographed sharing a bathtub with another lovely lady and a crack pipe. She also was charged with vehicular manslaughter after she struck nine-year-old Jorge Cruz, Jr. while talking on her cell phone and the boy died. Despite her past, Dane, a.k.a., "McSteamy" made Gayheart his bride on October 29, 2004. All the previous drama made for even more juicy speculation as to what in fact was on the film in question.

Celebrity sex tapes are clearly nothing new. It seems almost a prerequisite that celebs tape their most intimate moments for the world to see. Perhaps it helps a bit to have something along that line available so it can be conveniently "leaked" when that celebrity's name has not been on the magazine covers in a while. Who can forget the

So, we waited with baited breath to see what the buzz was all about ... the anticipation was terrible! Surely, this would be THE

celebrity sex tapes. What we got was a sad display of nudity and drug use, but shockingly, no sex! Who goes through all the trouble to tape themselves nude in an obvious three way romp and not tape the nitty gritty of it all? Gayheart is quoted at one point saying that she needed to lie down because she was "too high" and Dane is rambling on and on about his dog named Cocaine. At one point, Gayheart looks at the camera and says she's "not really a huge advocate of drugs for whatever reason" Huh? Peniche is the most low key of the three, speaking of her many siblings and her frustration at bath ducks that won't stop quacking. Not exactly what anyone expected. Oh well, there is still next week.
