If you find yourself dreading to vacuum because it’s just a lot of work or your floors are covered in pet fur and you don’t want to even think about it then you need this vacuum. It’s perfect for pet fur. My dog is allowed on everything; the bed, the couches, he thinks the house is his really. Thus we needed a good vacuum that would one, clear up his messes and two, make vacuuming easy as it’s my least favorite chore. The Dyson DC 14 Bronze Plus did all this and more. Dyson vacuums are known for their superior quality and performance however they are also known for carrying quite a steep price tag.

The great thing about the Bronze unit is it has all the suction capabilities and performance abilities as some of the other more expensive models such as the
Dyson Animal but it costs less. I found it in
Overstock for $369. Sure, it’s still a lot to pay for a
vacuum but it’s worth it in the long run. There are no replacement costs. In addition to the five year warranty there aren’t any bags so you never have to buy those and there’s a lifetime filter installed. They make the process incredibly simple. Just turn on, vacuum and empty the bin. The filter is even a HEPA filtration unit so cleaner air is expelled and it has been certified asthma friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
What you might really like about it is the ability to see what is picked up. It’s gross looking at the bin and seeing all the dirt that was in your carpets but at the same time you have a sense of peach because you know it’s now all gone. There are some attachment pieces included which you can use to clean the ceilings, fans, stairs and small crevices. Honestly only three are needed more of the time. The circular tool with the soft bristles works well when
vacuuming blinds or reaching up to ceiling fans and brushing over it. A long, thin piece is perfect for getting those hard to reach places like along the molding and carpet edges. Lastly, anyone of the small flat headed tools is perfect for the stairs and cleaning furniture because it has really good suction and lets you maneuver the way you need to. However you really don’t need every accessory.
There's a small foot release on the unit that allows you to transition from carpets to floors making the switch simple. The
vacuum works much better on carpeting than flooring for some reason so I would only use it as a means of quick sweeping and not necessarily a standard full on cleaning method for these floors.
Overall the
Dyson DC 14 Bronze Plus works really well and we’ve been quite pleased with its performance. The only drawback I see is that occasionally something still gets caught in the suction head but if you let it continue to
vacuum it will work itself out and be taken up into the bin just fine. Great purchase for pet owners and those seeking for a
high performance vacuum for less.
