Today I will be reviewing the Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 Speaker System and Clock Radio with iPod Dock.
The days of an alarm clock that smacked a miniature hammer from side to side between two bells is probably a distant memory for some, today, most people use alarm radios to wake them up from their slumber, waking up to the voice of their favorite morning news show or radio station. So, what happens if you want to be woken up by your favorite mp3? Here is where the Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 Speaker System and Clock Radio with iPod Dock steps in.
The Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 is speaker system with an alarm clock/radio with a built in iPod dock so that you can enjoy your favorite mp3’s right before bed or first thing in the morning. This is my 3rd iPod dock/radio and I must say I am very pleased with the sound quality and the ease of use, compared to the iHome. The Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 is also priced lower than the iHome and is capable of holding the iPod touch; which the iHome is not. The Snooze button is nicely located right in the middle of the unit. The Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 sports a nice ambient lit display that can be dimmed, I personally like the display as bright as possible. The alarm has the option of waking you up with a buzzer, the radio or your iPod. You are given the choice of up to two different alarms and they are set at the touch of a button. The Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 does not take up too much room on your night stand either unlike other alarm clock radios due to its vertical design. A remote control is provided so that you can control the unit when listening to music.
In comparison the Sony Speaker System is a great value for the quality of product and sound when compared to other alarm clock radios. I give this product a perfect 6 on the StarReviews scale and recommend it to anyone in the market for an alarm clock radio/iPod player.
