Interested in discovering which Internet security software can really keep your PC protected from prying eyes? We wanted to know the same thing. That's why the Star Reviews team set out to uncover the top Internet security products on the Web. When CA released their new and improved CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2010 edition, we knew we had to check it out. Here's what we uncovered...
What's New with CA Internet Security Software?- Protection Up To 5 PCs
- Up-to-the-Minute Internet Threat Reports
- Gaming/Movie Mode for Added Convenience
Star Reviews' Favorite CA Security Software Feature: We really liked CA's gaming/movie mode. Many Internet security products interrupt game play and online movie experiences. CA's gaming/movie mode allows you to control which alerts you see so you don't experience any unnecessary interruptions during your movies and game time.

The CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2010 Experience: The CA Internet Security Suite Plus experience was definitely a positive one. We really appreciated the integrated tutorials that taught us how to use the program with minimal effort. That being said, actually getting the program up and running was a bit time consuming and tedious.
Once the program was running, it was very effective, if not a bit slow. It seemed to bog down our system a bit and we had some problems getting certain programs to work until we altered some of the default security settings.
The interface itself, while not the best of the best, was definitely workable. While we can't recommend it for those who have no technical savvy whatsoever, most computer users will have no trouble making their way around this product.
We really liked that parental controls were put in place with this year's version. Instead of operating a separate parental control program to monitor your children's online activities, CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2010 does it for you. The backup and recovery utilities were also a nice addition, eliminating the need for yet another add-on software product.
CA Internet Security Software Pricing: CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2010 costs $79.99 for protection on up to 5 PCs for one full year.
CA Customer Service: CA seems to have improved its customer service quite a bit. The hold time for phone support was much shorter this year than it had been in years prior. Once we were connected we spoke with a friendly rep who answered our questions quickly and effectively.
Email support, however, was still a bit lacking. Canned responses still seem to be the norm and response times aren't as fast as we'd like. Fortunately, integrated tutorials and help features in this new and improved version help lesson the frustration of dealing with email support.
Upside:
Integrated tutorials and help, parental control features, backup and restoration abilities.
Downside:
Runs slower than we'd like to see and seems to bog down system a bit.
