Think you're getting all the nutrition you need from your diet? Guess again. Our foods don't have as many vitamins and minerals as they used to, and more and more people are finding a need to add nutritional supplements to their diets. Fortunately, the Internet offers an easy and affordable way to do it with its variety of online nutrition supplement stores. But which stores have the best selection and the best deals? Star Reviews decided to check out GNC.com in our quest to find the best nutrition website out there. How did they measure up? Here's what you need to know...
What’s New with GNC Nutrition Stores?- Free shipping for orders of $75 or more.
- $5 off $35 for joining their mailing list.
- Win $2,000, an iPod Nano, or other great prizes.
Our Favorite GNC Feature: We really like that we could buy into the GNC Gold Card program and get 20% off that day’s purchases, as well as 20% during the first week of every month over the next 12 months. Since the price for a membership is only $15, after you spend just $75 you begin saving!
The GNC Experience: When we went to the GNC website the first thing we noticed is how organized and uncluttered it was. Most of the competitors we checked out had an overwhelming number of products and other information on the homepage. GNC, on the other hand, saves the products and other information for the subpages, making for an easy navigation experience.
We were really excited to see the deals GNC was currently offering highlighted on the left-hand side of the page. From the 20 percent Gold Card savings to the free shipping offer, all of the current deals and promotions were there for the world to see.
As far as selection went, GNC is known for its extensive selection of nutritional products to choose from and their website didn't let us down. From sports supplements to herbs and cleansing, GNC had it all – and the prices were quite reasonable if you're a Gold Card member.
If you're not a Gold Card member, GNC might be priced higher than some of the other nutritional sites on the Web. While some of the sites we visited had savings of up to 50 percent on brand name products, GNC offered smaller discounts, with the largest savings going to Gold Card members.
If you are serious about supplements and health and you want to buy from a name you can trust, invest in the Gold Card and shop GNC. If, however, saving money is a priority, there are other less-expensive nutrition websites out there.
GNC Features:- Save 20% with the purchase of a Gold Card.
- Win $2,000 or an iPod Nano in their weekly and monthly drawings.
- Win a trip to Holland with the Ed van Amsterdam experience.
- Free shipping with a $75 purchase.
- Get a $5 off $35 coupon code for joining their e-mail list.
- Buy a GNC gift card.
GNC Pricing: At GNC, the vitamins and supplements vary by the product that you choose and the size you wish to purchase. For added savings you can purchase a GNC Gold Card for $15. A Gold Card entitles you to 20% off your purchase on the day of sign up and 20% off during the first week of every month for the next 12 months.
GNC Customer Service: GNC offers customer service via an online email form and toll-free phone. When emailing support we received an answer to our question the very next day, although it did feel like it was a template of sorts. Phone support was much more helpful, providing in-depth answers to our questions and we really didn't encounter any hold time at all. Of course, you can always call your local GNC store for answers to questions too. They are always more than willing to help.
Upside:
Free shipping on orders of $75, weekly iPod Nano drawings and monthly $2,000 drawings, get 20% off several times per year by becoming a Gold member.
Downside:
Gold membership costs $15.
