When you consider the fact that many of the other people finder sites on the Web use Intelius to power their own people searches, it's not hard to see why so many consumers turn to them too. In fact, why pay someone else for Intelius's technology when you can go straight to the source?
- Reverse cell phone searches available.
- Search neighborhoods and addresses for criminals and sex offenders.
The Intelius website was very easy to navigate and performing searches was a breeze. The only thing we didn't like was that the site didn't offer an up-front pricing menu. You didn't get to see the cost of a search until you had already given the site the search criteria. If you decide at that time the price is too high, you've wasted your time.
That being said, Intelius's prices were definitely competitive. They also run specials. When we visited the site the regular $14.95 phone reports were on sale for $4.95. That's a huge savings! Definitely cheaper than what the other sites we visited were charging for the same information.
If you're only going to visit one people finder site on the Web, this is the one to go to. They earn 6.0 Stars!

No, US Search was not one of the cheapest online people finder/background check websites we came across. They were, however, one of the most impressive. From simple name/address searches to comprehensive contractor screening and background checks, this site offered it all.
- Criminal records checks.
- Reverse phone search.
We really liked the reverse phone number search. For just $15 you can find out who made that weird phone call. We also appreciated the contractor and child care screening reports. It's hard to trust strangers in your home and with your kids. These reports can help ensure you don't make a hiring mistake.
And as far as customer service goes, US Search is definitely on the ball. We got same-day answers to our email requests and phone support was a huge help. If you're a stickler for old-fashioned service in a world that seems to have forgotten what it means, this is the site to trust. We give US Search 5.5 Stars!

If you don't mind paying a little more to get a whole lot more, Abika is the online people finder service for you. There are literally dozens of searches to choose from. Whether you simply want to find your long-lost friend or get the dirt on that guy your daughter is dating, this is the place to be.

Unlike most of the other sites we visited, Abika's searches aren't limited to public records and criminal history searches. You can get everything from license plate info to actual psychological profiles. Talk about comprehensive!
We were actually a bit shocked at all of the dirt Abika could dish on a person if we choose to pay the price. That being said, if knowledge is power and you have the money to spend on the somewhat pricey Abika services, you can become quite the powerful person over time. Abika earns 5.5 Stars!

PeopleFinders.com is not, by any means, the crème de la crème of online people finder services. That being said, however, it is a great place to go if you're looking for affordable searches containing basic information.

While many other people finder sites charge $20 and upwards for a simple people finder search, this site only charges about $3 and you can even get unlimited searches for 30 days for a mere $39.95. When it comes to being affordable, PeopleFinders.com is definitely one of the top contenders.
We also really liked the fact that the site offers a free sex offender email alert service. Simply sign up for the free service with your email address and your physical address and the site will email you anytime a sex offender moves to your area.
While it's not the "Lexus" of online people research sites, it's definitely offers solid search services at affordable rates. They earn 5.0 Stars!

The less than five star rating is a bit misleading as we felt PeopleFinder.com was truly a great site to turn to for free and low-cost people finder and background searches. Unfortunately, the site's overall score was brought down dramatically by it's absolute lack of customer support. And we're not just talking poor service – we're talking absolutely no customer service contact information whatsoever.

- Email lookups.
That being said, if you don't mind dealing with a site that doesn't offer any support options, PeopleFinder.com will prove to be a valuable resource. They offer for free what some of the other people finder websites charge for, such as free online people searches, free reverse phone lookups and free reverse address searches.
Are we happy with the lack of customer service? No. Are we willing to overlook it for some free search tools that would cost us quite a bit of money elsewhere? Absolutely. We give them 4.5 Stars!

The Star Reviews team would have really liked to give PeopleSearch.com a glowing review. Unfortunately, that was all but impossible. The site did very little to impress us, and left us scratching our heads and wondering what the point was in the end.

First of all, the PeopleSearch.com site isn't really a search site at all. It's more of a search redirect site. When you enter the people search criteria into the page's search fields you are directed to other people finder sites like PeopleFinders.com and Reunion.com for results. None of the searches are actually run through PeopleSearch.com at all.
Add that to the fact that customer service is laughable and it's clear that PeopleSearch.com is probably not your best bet for online people finding services. They earn 4.0 Stars!
